8 Weeks

Well I am officially at my 8 week mark! Wow! This week has definitely been a very BIG week for all of us. I not only hit my very own personal milestone of carrying this baby longer than my previous pregnancy, but we also went to our first doctor's visit!!!! That was pretty exciting and nerve wracking at the same time. Thank God the baby is doing great and everything should be ok. We even got to hear the baby's heartbeat for the first time! That was truly magical! The only thing I need to watch out for is spotting, though they said to expect some since there is some old blood near the baby... not to get too worried unless I see red fresh blood. Of course I worry anyways and everyday I am check check checking, so far so good. However, I am feeling alot of pains and discomfort again. It seemed to be have been triggered by the doctor's visit/exam but it still hasn't gone away. Today for the first time in a couple of weeks some cervical pains again... sigh.... So of course my worries are heightened yet again, but I am doing my best not to let it get to me. Hopefully everything is ok.

My Dad also came down for a visit this week for a few days. That was awesome, I always love it when my Dad comes for a visit. Mia just goes completely nuts when hes here its too funny. He helped me so much and took full charge of Mia so I could rest and address my sickness (which is horrible lately!!!) He also rescued my craving! He brought me down 3 of my favorite burritos from a small little mexican place that I was craving BAD!!!

The other huge thing that happened since I last posted is, we finally got to tell friends and family! YAY! My pregnancy is no longer a secret and it feels great!

CRAVINGS
Every week its to get harder and hard to find things I can tolerate eating. I no longer crave meat or beans. I did find out that I can not tolerate any fried foods (I found this our the hard way after eating at Red Robin) so I can add that to my long list of "Definately cannot have" which includes sweets and chocolate. I cannot stand chicken and most juices and water get me sick. I also can no longer tolerate Orange Juice it just makes me so sick. Oranges and grapefruits also get me sick. This is a very weird pregnancy I don't know what the heck I can eat!!! The only thing that has been staying down ok is salads and veggies... so I think I will stick to them for awhile

TIREDNESS/SICKNESS
Tiredness is something that hasn't been to bad. Though I cannot sleep to well at night due to night terrors and using the bathroom alot, as long as I can get in a good afternoon nap I am fine. The sickness is AWFUL!!!! and what makes things worse is I cannot find a good medium of what I can eat. This makes it even worse! I am sick all the time, thankfully though I do get some reprieve at night. I am only horribly sick in the morning, afternoon, and late afternoon by 4pm it starts to slowly subside and by the night time I am usually ok unless I eat something that upsets me. So I look forward to night time, but it kind of stinks that I am so sick the whole entire time Mia is awake. Not good...

NEW SYMPTOMS
LOTS of pressure in my lower stomach. Almost as if I held my pee in to long and then went. Its very uncomfortable. I also get slight pains in my stomach and it aches alot. I don't remember going though this with Mia but I am not bleeding so I think I will be ok.

WEIGHT
Ugh... no comment

First Check Up!!!!!

The day finally came!!!!! Today was the BIG day for us... we were about to see our little pumpkin for the first time!

My Dad came into town yesterday so he could be here today to watch Mia for us while we went to the doctors. I was seriously stressing out and so nervous about the appointment. I knew the vibes I was sending out would not be good for Mia to be around, plus if heaven forbid something was wrong I didn't want Mia around us for that either. So she had fun with her Grandpa while her Daddy and I went to our appointment.

As soon as we pulled up to the Wildomar Medical Offices I instantly got flash backs of both Mia's pregnancy and Angel's miscarriage. I had mixed feelings. I was feeling horribly sick (from being pregnant) so that didn't help things either. We checked in and waited in the usual waiting room. I could not sit still. I was so nervous I felt like I couldn't breathe. I slowly paced the room and when I finally calmed myself down enough to sit down, I had to have Adrian hold me.

Eventually my name was called and I was taken to the nurses station to take my vitals. The nurse quickly recognized me from the numerous time I was in there during Mia's pregnancy. She quickly said "Yay your back!!!" and asked about Mia. I updated her on Mia and how I was feeling. I also told her about our miscarriage this past Sept. and how nervous I was feeling. She reassured me everything should be ok especially since I am so sick. She said that was a VERY good sign. She took my vitals and off to the examination room we went (Adrian too). She set up the computer for the doctor then told me to get undressed and wait for the doctor to see me. I was soooo nervous and soooo excited! This was the moment I have been waiting for! I sat there chatting with Adrian nervously until the doctor came in.

He was a younger doctor (much younger than the older man I had for Mia's pregnancy) and EXTREMELY nice. He asked all about my medical and pregnancy history and informed me I still have a choice to have this baby natural! I told him I am probably opting for a C-Section anyway (I am sooooooo not wanting to go through labor again haha) and he said I could get it scheduled a week before my due date. Cool! He asked a few more questions and I told him how sick I was getting. He said it was a very good thing to be sick since it meant my pregnancy hormones are fully in effect. He offered some medicine to help with the sickness but I refused. I told him I am very strict about what I take while pregnant. I don't drink caffeine, I don't take meds, and I keep my body as pure as possible for the baby's sake. He commended me for that. Then came the big event... ultra-sound time.

I sat back on the table as he raised it and got the machine ready. My heart began to race. Adrian came over and held my hand. Since I am still early on he had to do the "internal" ultra-sound which is never any fun. Adrian and I anxiously watched the monitor for any signs of our little precious pumpkin. Sure enough... the picture became clear and there we saw our little angel sleeping there peacefully! I asked the doctor if they looked ok? He said the baby looked perfect and was very cooperative! The baby was laying still while the doctor took all of his measurements and after we got a very special treat! We got to hear the baby's heartbeat!!! YES! I KNOW!! We didn't even get to hear Mia's heartbeat that soon and I was 8 week with her! As soon as we heard that angelic noise, I almost broke down in tears! I was so extremely relieved and happy! My baby is ok and healthy!!! Our prayers have been answered.

We sat there listening to the little fluttering 150+ bpm heartbeat! Then the doctor took my measurements. He calculated the due date as Oct. 17th and he said that if I do decide to have a C-Section I CAN possibly get my 10-10-10 baby! YAY! I then asked to make sure there was "only one baby". He said he didn't see anymore and doubled checked. Nope... YAY!!! But as he double checked he noticed something. He said I have a large amount of "old blood" near the baby. He couldn't tell if it was actually a blood vessel or just a clump of old blood. He said this could be the cause of the discoloration I experienced a week ago, and any future bleeding. He said not to concerned if I see any blood as long as its "old". He also said no more "funny business" for at least another month (which I have NO problem with since I am so sick haha) Other than all that, the blood doesn't seem to be too concerning.

After he did all he needed, he gave us a copy of the ultra-sound picture, asked if we had any more questions and ended our visit. He left the image still on the machine so Adrian and I got to really enjoy the moment a bit more. I took a picture next to the machine with little pumpkin's picture on it. It was lots of fun. It felt so surreal! WOW! This is really going to happen!

We both were on cloud nine! I was so excited and so happy and relieved. After setting up my next appointment (10 week mark) we said our goodbyes to the nurses and off to home we went. I quickly called my Dad and shared the great news. Once we got home the phone calls started up. I called my Mom, then my brother, then Sister in law. After that, I called up my Grandpa Pizano and shared the good news about the pregnancy with him. He was so happy and excited and cheered for us.

Adrian then scanned the ultra-sound and I posted the Pregnancy Announcement on Facebook for all the family to know. It was awesome to finally get the news out! YAY!!!!!!! Right away I had TONS of well wishes and congrats from tons of friends and family!

I am so happy right now. Pumpkin is doing great and so is Mama!!!! I couldn't be happier. I framed the little ultra-sound picture and showed Mia. She got to see her little sibling for the first time and it was priceless. She carried that little frame all around the house with her.

YAY!!! Such wonderful news! I feel so blessed, so happy and just EXCITED!!!! EEEEK!!!!

A Very Special Craving

For anyone who has had serious cravings while pregnant know how important it is to get them satisfied and satisfied ASAP!

Lately my craving has been red meat! Specially roast! I have been seriously dying for a Beef and Potato Burrito from a tiny little Mexican burrito shop in Port Hueneme (Ventura County). Of course its not feasible to drive 3 hours over there just to pick one up, so I have been trying to find a substitute locally. I have been failing left and right trying to satisfy this craving. I've tried this place down the road from us and their burrito was horrific! The Pizano family favorite "Miguel's" beef and potato burrito didn't do it for me either. I even tried cooking my own pot roast and though that was "ok" it still didn't kick my craving. I knew there was only one thing to do.... Ask My Daddy for help!!!

My Dad has been planning on coming down to visit us the day before my doctor's appointment so he could watch Mia for us. I quickly jumped at the opportunity to ask for a HUGE favor! When I asked my Dad for a favor, he wasn't quite sure what to expect (especially since I am never one to ask for anything). When I told him he HAD to get me a beef and potato burrito from "El Especial" in Hueneme he chuckled a bit and of course agreed.

A few days passed and I was growing more anxious to dig my teeth into that juicy burrito. (They do make the best ones I have ever eaten). Then the big day finally came!!! Before my Dad headed out to our house he stopped by the little burrito shop and ordered me 3!!!! He then told the lady working there why and for who he was buying these burritos for. The lady was so tickled by the story. She said it was the cutest one that she has ever heard in the store's history. (A pregnant daughter who lives 3 hours away craving THEIR beef and potato burrito and ONLY theirs... and a Daddy who is to the rescue for both his unborn grandchild and daughter). She was so touched by the story she offered to send him away with a giant bowl of beef and potatoes!!! haha She then stuffed my burritos and sent my Dad away feeling proud and happy.

I was patiently waiting at home and finally my Dad came! YAY!!! He came in like a hero carrying those three HUGE delicious burritos in hand!! I was so excited but unfortunately to sick to eat them just then. So the next morning as soon as the sickness went away enough for me to eat, I wasted no time and literally dove right in to a burrito....

O-M-G!!! It was pure heaven stuffed in a tortilla!!!! My taste buds weren't the only ones dancing... my little baby pumpkin was too!!! We were all floating with every bite! It was so good!!!

Ahhhh!!! There is nothing like satisfying a pregnancy craving!!! and I have my Daddy to thank!!! Hmm.... I wonder when I can get him back for another visit so he can bring me more!! haha

SICKNESS OMG!!!!!

This is down right NUTS!!! I am sooo sick all the time. I know I was very sick with Mia but I really don't remember being this bad with eating. At least with Mia I could stomach oranges and dry Cheerios. With this baby I can't stomach ANYTHING!!!! Even oranges and OJ make be sick. I am hyper sensitive to sweets so I can't even drink juice and I can't stomach water so finding a source of liquids have been my biggest challenge. So far OJ kind of helps but still makes me sick but not as sick as lets say apple juice, ginger ale and sprite make me. I use those little "crystal lite" packets and mix it with my water and that will settle "alright". Its just insane!!! Everything makes me sick, eating makes me sick, not eating makes me sick, in between eating makes me sick. I am always sick, Sick, SICK!!! When will the maddess stop!?!? I need to find my nitch but I can't seem to find it. Even soups make me sick (I've made a couple of my famous homemade soups and its just makes me sick). I don't know what to do... I know I need to eat for the baby but its so hard! Ugh.. I feel so horrible ALL the time!!

Big Day Tomorrow

Well this is it! Tomorrow is the BIG day! I go in for my first ultra-sound. I am a bit nervous, well ALOT bit nervous, for good reasons. My two biggest fears are, no heart-beat/baby and twins +. The twin thing I can deal with, but I won't be able to handle losing another baby. I can't even imagine carrying around a deceased baby in my tummy and having to take meds to force it out. How tramatic would that be!!! I know I know, I am over exaggerating but its what has been on my mind. I just want tomorrow to go smooth, see our newest little bundle of joy doing fine and I will be content. Hopefully everything will be ok.
