3 Months Old

Wow! Another month has gone by. Alex is 3 months old today! I seriously cannot believe it. Hes not my tiny newborn anymore! Hes growing into a big handsome wonderful baby. I love it! He is such a great baby to have, so mellow, so happy and easy to please.

This whole month has been filled with first, new experiences, and adventures. He is becoming more and more interactive and responsive so that always brings fun. Well he is down for a nap right now so I better get to his summary before he wakes up and its play time again...

Summary:
He met Santa for the First time and took a picture with him

He went to Babies R Us to get his photo's taken

He finally started extending his night time feedings and even slept through the entire night a couple of times

He went Christmas Tree shopping with us and helped pick out a tree... well asleep haha

He watched his Sister decorate the Christmas tree

He went through his first major growth spurt which was hard for me to keep up with

He started developing eczema and its getting pretty bad... I still don't have it under control yet

He went his first 8 hours stretch between feedings

He went to his 2nd well baby check up and got shots! OH NO! He did very well though

While crying he was comforted by Mia for the first time

He went on his first Adventure with just Mama and Mia to the store.. and it happened to be storming REAL BAD at the time

He laughs for the FIRST TIME!!! YAY!

I also got him to laugh without touching him a couple of times

He went to San Diego for the first time AND Celebrated Christmas Eve with the Cardoso Family

He celebrated his first Christmas Eve and Christmas AND New Years

Hes getting better and better at tummy time

He likes to stare at his fist as he makes a straight arm

He gave up his binky in exchange for his two fingers (just like his sister did)

He went to Rosa's Cafe for the First time and did REALLY well

He got a visit from his Grandpa and Grandma Pizano and we celebrated a belated Christmas together

Alex received his very first Christmas Card and it was from his Great-Grandpa Pizano, it also contained $50!!!! WOW!

He also started having poopie issues, he is now skipping days and I don't know why

Mia is starting to share her toys and blankets with him more, she also makes him wear her princess crowns alot haha

He is also starting to reach out and grab things more and hold them

He loves to watch TV especially Mia's shows

He graduated to the big side of the baby tub

He has learned to roll over onto his back (only on the couch)

He no longer fits in 3 month clothes and is up to 6-9 month!

He no longer sleeps in the boppie (hes too big now)

weight:
11.7 lbs (as of 12/20 @ check-up)

Feedings:
I am still breastfeeding him only. Which means its been 3 months and he has still never tasted formula! WHOOHOO! For Mama! Believe me, it hasn't been easy. There were a few patches this month that I was so close to giving up but I mustered up the strength to keep at it and it paid off. Infact, he hasn't had a bottle in almost a month! So not even pumped milk supplimentation is needed. He is finally sleeping more at night so I am getting some rest... still not enough, but WAY more than before. So I am not sure how many oz. he is up to now.

New things:
He met Santa for the first time and took a picture with him, he celebrated his first Christmas Eve, Christmas, and New Years. He made his first San Diego trip, met his Cardoso family, went 8 hours between feedings for the first time, slept through the night, no longer takes his binky but instead sucks his two fingers. He laughed for the first time, and laughed without being tickled. Graduated to the infant side of the baby tub. He went through his first major growth spurt. He developed eczema and got his first round of shots. Mia comforted him while he was crying and loves to sing the "brother" song to him when he cries. He received his first Christmas card. He no longer sleeps in the boppie but instead the napper. Hes in 6-9 month clothes now. He started skipping days with his popping. Watches TV and reaches out to grab and hold things. He learned how to roll onto his back but only on the couch.

Goals met from last month?:
Yes we have met a goal and a half. His periods between feedings (other than during a growth spurt) have extended.. ALOT! Sometimes he goes 6-8 hours between feedings which is nice when it happens at night so I can get some good rest. As for taking him out for more family outing. That hasn't happened as much as I would like, however, he did make a HUGE trip to San Diego for Christmas Eve and he went to Rosa's Cafe Restaurant for the first time. So we are taking him out more.

Goals for next month:
Putting him on a more concrete schedule. Getting his eczema under control. Do more tummy time. Graduate him to the pack in play from the napper.
