Gearing up for another growth spurt?

Ugh... it seems like he just went through a growth spurt but I think we are on the brink of another one. I say Ugh, not because of him... I enjoy seeing my little man grow and develop... Its me! Growth spurt = cluster feeding aka hungry baby 24/7. Last time I didn't know it was a growth spurt and I nearly lost my mind trying to keep up with him. Luckily I survived that and we didn't have to turn to formula.

Now he is showing signs of it again. Hes an eating machine and refuses to go longer than a couple of hours during the day to feed. On the other hand, he is sleeping alot more at night and during the evening. His awake time has also shrunk... I think he total awake time yesterday was only 5 hours out of the day!

Today he has been uncharacteristically fussy and nothing seems to make him happy other than eating.. and eating... and eating some more. So I think he is on the brink of another growth spurt.

I looked online to see when babies have their growth spurts and it said at 2 weeks, 6 weeks, 3 months, 6 months and 9 months. Alex will be 3 months on Sunday so looks like hes right on track.

So I guess I better gear up and prepare for battle yet again.... hopefully it won't last a week like it did last time. Wish us luck!

It finally came in the mail!!! Alex's picture from his photo shoot here at the house. I am so excited! He looks so ADORABLE in this picture. His face! It says it all! I know will have my hands full when this little guy grows up!

Though they might not look exactly the same, you can totally tell Mia and Alex are siblings. They both love their two fingers! and love Gabba!

Getting grabby

I just had to mention something while it was still on my mind. I keep forgetting to mention this, but for the past week or so Alex has really started to use his hands to grab things! He has grabbed before but now its more deliberate.

Sometimes he even grabs my hands and refuses to let go, just so do I don't leave him. This usually happens when I am putting him to bed and he doesn't want to go to sleep. He also grabs at things and holds them for a short while. I have tried to put toys in his hands and though he will hold on to them for a little bit he will let go. He will only hold onto things for a long time if he grabs them himself.

My little man is growing up too fast!

Another first

Another first happened today! Alex laughed for the first time without me tickling or even touching him! Though very rare, he has laughed with me tickling him a few times now but he never laughed without actual contact. Today was the first time he did.

I was laying in our bed with him (just the two of us), just talking and playing with him. He was all cooey and happy. Then I started to play peek-a-boo and he got really excited and then started to let out his cute little laugh! I was so happy and shocked! Though it didn't last too long it was fun while it lasted!

Mia shares with her brother

Mia loves her brother more and more everyday! I am so happy to see that. Now she is beginning to share her toys with him too. Today she nearly COVERED him with her toys... I just had to take a picture and quick video. The only thing that isn't so good is, she likes to throw things. So when she tries to give her brother a toy she ends up throwing it at him! Oh-No! So yes, Alex has been peppered by flying stuffed animals!

She also insists that she share her princess crowns with him and makes him wear them too!!! When I try to take them off she gets really upset. She wants to wear them together! haha

Belated Christmas Pictures

I know I know, I am a bit late with the Christmas picture taking but the holidays zoomed by us so fast I never got the chance to take them. I really wanted to set up a whole scene with Christmasy stuff and have Alex pose next to it, like I did with Mia, but I just couldn't find the time until today.

Though we are already in Jan. I didn't care, I set up some of the decorations I still had out from Christmas and dressed him in his new Christmas outfit that he got from my cousin Gina-Lisa and family for Christmas.

I couldn't help but post some pictures since so many came out so cute. Too bad once the picture session was over and I took the suit off of Alex he blew up and was so cranky I had to put him back to bed. Poor Santa Baby....
